Energy saving due to variable speed control.
The power consumed by the pump is proportional to the cube of its speed. Unlike traditional systems where the pump speed is fixed and controlled by the mains frequency (@ 50 Hz, about 3000 rpm), MIDA is able to vary the pump speed according to water demand. In the presence of low demand, MIDA controls the pump at a reduced speed, which consumes less power. For example, if the pump turns at 40 Hz (about 2400 rpm) instead the nominal 50 Hz (about 3000 rpm), power consumption would be half.
